22/4/2024 0 Comments Klara Kowalczyk sets sights on Formula One with Diverse Extreme Team and Ricky Flynn MotorsportKarting driver Klara Kowalczyk has just joined the elite group of professional athletes of the Diverse Extreme Team. The Polish karting prodigy Klara Kowalczyk is now well on her way to become the first woman to race in Formula One since 1976, and the first Polish racer since Robert Kubica. Joining forces with the Diverse Extreme Team is just the first step on her long journey. Klara's joining the DEXT team shows that young generation players are starting to be noticed by business partners who want to support them at an early stage of their development and accompany them in their international careers. Despite her young age, Klara Kowalczyk already has an extensive experience. She started practicing karting when she was less than 6 years old, and then quickly moved from indoor tracks to outdoor tracks, where she competes side by side with boys. In 2022, she stood on the podium of the Polish Karting Championships, finishing third position in her age category. In 2021-2022, she raced with the Fernando Alonso Kart factory team. At the end of the 2022 season, at the invitation of Fernando Alonso's factory team, she had the opportunity to train with the F1 world champion himself, on the track at his centre in Oviedo, Spain.
In 2023, Kowalczyk joined the factory CRG Racing Team - in which Max Verstappen won the title of Karting World Champion - taking part in the WSK competition, the strongest private series in the world, as well as in the FIA European Championship and FIA World Championship. Also in 2023, she was selected by the FIA Women's Commission to represent the organization in the prestigious FIA Academy Trophy championship, as the most promising 12-14 year old female driver from around the world. At the turn of 2023 and 2024, Klara joined the British karting team Ricky Flynn Motorsport, in whose colours she will continue to compete in the WSK series as well as the European Championships and the FIA World Championships. Four of the twenty current F1 drivers were trained in this team, including McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. It is also worth emphasizing that since 2023, Klara has been a part of the National Team of the Polish Motor Association, and now she joins the Diverse Extreme Team for 2024. |
