The Polish karting prodigy Klara Kowalczyk is now well on her way to become the first woman to race in Formula One since 1976, and the first Polish racer since Robert Kubica. Joining forces with the Diverse Extreme Team is just the first step on her long journey. Klara's joining the DEXT team shows that young generation players are starting to be noticed by business partners who want to support them at an early stage of their development and accompany them in their international careers. Despite her young age, Klara Kowalczyk already has an extensive experience. She started practicing karting when she was less than 6 years old, and then quickly moved from indoor tracks to outdoor tracks, where she competes side by side with boys. In 2022, she stood on the podium of the Polish Karting Championships, finishing third position in her age category. In 2021-2022, she raced with the Fernando Alonso Kart factory team. At the end of the 2022 season, at the invitation of Fernando Alonso's factory team, she had the opportunity to train with the F1 world champion himself, on the track at his centre in Oviedo, Spain. In 2023, Kowalczyk joined the factory CRG Racing Team - in which Max Verstappen won the title of Karting World Champion - taking part in the WSK competition, the strongest private series in the world, as well as in the FIA European Championship and FIA World Championship. Also in 2023, she was selected by the FIA Women's Commission to represent the organization in the prestigious FIA Academy Trophy championship, as the most promising 12-14 year old female driver from around the world. At the turn of 2023 and 2024, Klara joined the British karting team Ricky Flynn Motorsport, in whose colours she will continue to compete in the WSK series as well as the European Championships and the FIA World Championships. Four of the twenty current F1 drivers were trained in this team, including McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. It is also worth emphasizing that since 2023, Klara has been a part of the National Team of the Polish Motor Association, and now she joins the Diverse Extreme Team for 2024. “Joining the Diverse Extreme Team is a great honor for me, but also a confirmation that my racing can inspire others to pursue even their wildest dreams,” says Klara Kowalczyk.
“Even though I get sometimes stressed, I love this dose of adrenaline that pushes me forward and gives me a lot of fun, because racing in cars is a fantastic thing! My goal is Formula 1 and I hope that joining the elite DEXT team will help me achieve it.” Diverse Extreme Team is a premium clothing brand that, thanks to its many years of experience and cooperation with industry leaders, has gained recognition in the world of motorsport. DEXT has been the official Technical Partner of the legendary Dakar Rally for many years, providing the highest quality clothing for both competitors, organizers and technical workers. As part of the cooperation, DEXT also creates a limited official clothing line with the Dakar logo. The brand has also collaborated with the organizer of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, under which it has twice created a licensed collection for race fans, and its new version will be premiered soon. Diverse Extreme Team is synonymous with courage, competitive sports and a fighting spirit that inspires on many levels. “We are very happy to cooperate with Klara. The face of motorsport is currently changing dynamically, and this is happening thanks to successful women and girls like Klara,” says Michał Pobiedziński, Managing Director at ETOS S.A., the company to which the Diverse Extreme Team brand belongs. “Their talent, passion and determination mean that the world of motor sports is no longer exclusively a male domain. Changes can also be seen in the fact that more and more organizations and companies want to get involved in the promotion of women's careers in motorsport. “We keep our fingers crossed that Klara will fulfill her biggest dreams and follow in the footsteps of colleagues and famous F1 drivers such as Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton, who started their career with karting. We believe that Klara has enormous potential and we will try to expand her wings.” The team supported by DEXT includes Freestyle Family Team players with titles in the FMX discipline - Marcin Łukaszczyk, Rafał Biały and Mikołaj Tempka, members of the Polish BMX Team - Piotr Leszczyński, Filip Skowron, Maksymilian Kowalczyk and Patryk Teul, as well as Tomasz Staniszewski - member of the P-team Rally, which took part in the Dakar Classic 2024 Rally and organizer of Porsche off-road rallies. DEXT also supports athletes from outside the world of motorsport, including Bronisław Olenkowicz, who is successful on the national and international arena in the field of CrossFit. Klara will surely be proud to belong to such an outstanding group of athletes this year and compete in the colours of DEXT. “There’s no doubt in my mind that Klara has the potential to go to the top of the sport,” says FIA motorsport commentator Jake Sanson who was the voice of FIA Karting from 2018 to 2023. “Her discipline and determination are her key ingredients she brings to the table, but also her rate of development is phenomenal. Her learning procedure in karting is with the right people in the right mindset, so I have no doubt she’ll be amongst the elite drivers as soon as she is ready to switch to Formula 4, the next step of her career.” Klara is used to achieving great things in motorsport as she won the prestigious "WPROST" ShEO 2023 Editorial Award in the New Generation category. She also won the first Polish edition of the F1 in Schools competition in the primary school category, demonstrating that she can be just as impressive as an engineer as well as a driver. She is also the former Polish high-diving vice-champion from 5m tower, to prove her diversity across multiple sports making her the perfect fit for a partnership with DEXT.
